“Gratitude is the memory of hearts!” St Mary Euphrasia
On 3rd February 2018, the Good Shepherd Sisters in Myanmar joyfully celebrated the Silver Jubilee of Sisters Benedicta Philip, Maria Goretti Lwin, Regina Htoo Htoo and Agnes Pai Tu at Yangon Convent.
Twenty five years ago, these four young women made their first commitment to the Shepherd God that they would live and work as Good Shepherd Sisters. And now they return to the Shepherd God with gratitude for the grace-filled journey of 25 years. The thanksgiving Mass was presided over by Fr. Joseph Mg Win, the parish priest at 7:30 am followed by a simple breakfast. The family members of the Jubilarians, benefactors, mission partners and friends joined the celebration. At lunch time, everyone gathered in the dining area for the cutting of jubilee cake with songs and dances in honor of the four jubilarians. During this joyful occasion, the four sisters expressed their joy of being part of the Good Shepherd family. Recalling memories of 25 years, they shared their life goals, the challenges they faced and the joys they experienced along the journey. Remembering with gratitude all the precious experiences they have had in their Shepherding journey so far, they counted their blessings and their learnings. All of them affirmed that the challenges on their journey made them even stronger to do their best in the mission.
May our Shepherd God continue to be the strength and the guide of our four
Sisters.
To act justly to love tenderly and to walk humbly with your God.
